What we do

Three areas of work.

Matterward Labs builds its own products for individuals and businesses. The work ranges from private agents that handle real tasks to apps people use to run a shop or make a document. We build for Android, iOS and macOS, and have shipped software since 2011.

AI

We build agents for individuals and businesses. They can organise work, create useful things, manage customers and inventory, and build websites. People keep control of their data and can move between AI providers without rebuilding how they work.

  • Personal work and creative projects
  • Customers, inventory, invoices and payments
  • Websites and practical automations
  • Choice across model providers

OpenAlly™ works across Android, iPhone and Mac while keeping business data on the user's own devices.

Apps

Native applications for Android, iOS and macOS, written in Kotlin, Swift and Rust rather than wrapped web pages. We have shipped to Google Play since 2011, which is where most of what we know about batteries, background limits and store review came from.

  • Native Android, iOS and macOS
  • Wear OS watch faces
  • Store submission, review and release
  • Background work, battery and power budgets

Shipping consumer software since 2011, including five Google Play releases.

Platform

The half of a product nobody sees. APIs, auth, billing, storage, queues and the dashboards an operator runs it from. Mostly Rust and TypeScript, deployed wherever the product already lives.

  • APIs and backend services in Rust and TypeScript
  • Auth, billing and multi-tenancy
  • Operator dashboards and admin tooling
  • Telemetry, alerting and release plumbing
